11 CALIFORNIA ORGANIZATIONS RECOGNIZED FOR WORKPLACE EXCELLENCE
The Boeing Company’s C-17 Universal Splice Machine Team, Long Beach, captured top honors, Gold Level Award, in the 2007 California Team Excellence Award competition held in November. The C-17 Universal Splice Machine Team greatly enhanced reliability of the system through outstanding teamwork, innovation, and dedication.
An additional Boeing team earned a Silver Level award in the competition. The C-17 MIS Improvement Team, based in Long Beach, was recognized for their distinguished performance.
Four additional outstanding teams earned Bronze Level awards. They include: Baxter BioScience - Hemofil-M Potency Team, based in Los Angeles, California; Palomar Pomerado Health - Point of Care Testing Team, based in San Diego, California; Port Hueneme Navy Base - US Navy RAM Alteration Team, based in Port Hueneme, California; and The Boeing Company - C-17 Super Grip Team, based in Long Beach, California.
Five teams were recognized as Honorable Mention recipients. They include: Baxter BioScience - Gyro Paste Collection Team, based in Los Angeles, California; Baxter BioScience - Precipitate Configuration Bowl Change Team, based in Los Angeles, California; City of Riverside - Neighborhood Code Enhancement Team, based in Riverside, California; Port Hueneme Navy Base - Intellectual Capital Management, based in Port Hueneme, California; and The Boeing Company - C-17 P96 Recovery Team, based in Long Beach, California.
The CTEA program recognizes work teams that provide innovative solutions and process improvements for their companies. The competition is administered by the California Council for Excellence based in Poway, California.
CTEA Award winners will be formally honored at CCE’s 14th Annual Conference and Awards Ceremony to be held on Friday, March 28, 2008 at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Long Beach.
The top three teams will represent California at the International Team Excellence Awards Ceremony in Houston, Texas in May.
CCE is a non-profit foundation based in Poway, California that is dedicated to helping California companies and public sector agencies achieve world-class results through the principles and criteria of the national Malcolm Baldrige Award. CCE also administers the annual California Awards for Performance Excellence program (CAPE).
