2008 CTEA Judges Needed

The Western Regional Team Excellence Awards (CTEA) is looking for interested and experienced judges! The annual team competition requires judging panels (3-5 Judges per panel) to score teams. Judges will be organized to review live and video entries. (See CTEA Judges Responsibilities below.)

If you want to be a judge:

  • Complete the CTEA Judges Application along with the Confidentiality and Conflict of Interest Statement. Submit these documents to CCE. Click here to download


Judges Training Materials & Responsibilities
Meet the following Judges Training Requirements(all training is self-paced)

2008 Competition Dates & Locations
  • Tuesday, November 4, San Jose
  • Thursday, November 6, San Diego
  • Tuesday, November 11, Long Beach
  • Thursday, November 13, Riverside

CTEA Judges Responsibilities
  • Judges will review and score team presentations and documentation and assist in preparing feedback to teams. Time required at judging events is one day for each event attended. Judges may serve at one or more events.
  • Judges' organizations must provide support for time and expenses to attend the judging events.
  • Judges must sign a Confidentiality and Conflict of Interest Statement.
CTEA Judges Benefits
  • An opportunity to be trained as a team judge, which you can put to use in your own organization.
  • A chance to witness the work of some of the best teams in the western states.
  • The privilege of helping to select the teams to represent the western states at the ASQ National Competition and to select teams to be showcased at our annual Spring Conference.
  • Chance to be recognized as a member of the 2006 Board of Judges.
CTEA Preparation/Follow-up
  • Judges will be asked to review the criteria and on-line training prior to the judging session.
  • Each judge should familiarize themselves completely with the criteria prior to their designated judging date.
  • Each judge's panel will be expected to prepare feedback reports for applications reviewed.
CTEA Judges Selection Process

A special effort is made when selecting the judging teams to reflect the mix of team entries. This is accomplished by not only considering the qualifications listed, but also selecting a diverse group which includes the following criteria:

  • Industry
  • Experience
  • Previous judges' training
