The California Team Excellence Award program is one of the nation's premier state level awards for excellence in team-based process improvement. Our program exists to create performance improvement through fostering collaboration and use of systematic process improvement techniques. Use of this approach improves not only the bottom-line but also the quality of work life for organizational members.
Our program provides the participants with information, education, feedback, recognition, and celebration. Everyone who submits an application is considered a winner in our program. In addition to the recognition given during our awards ceremony, the learning, development, and pride of contribution that participants experience are inherent rewards of their own.
Participants include not only those who apply for the award but also our volunteer Council members and judges. These people are the engine that makes this program run. They give of their time to help others grow, succeed, and be recognized for doing so. It is this spirit of teamwork that infuses everything we do.
Please join us in spreading this spirit of collaboration and learning. Submit an award application. Volunteer for our Council or as a judge. Come to our celebration. Share in our pride of what we bring to our state and its residents.
CTEA Vision
The California Team Excellence Award (CTEA) Program is the most sought after resource for recognizing and improving organization performance through team-based efforts.
CTEA Mission
CTEA promotes overall organizational effectiveness through team-focused management. We provide the training, tools, knowledge, and assessment skills needed to excel through team participation, recognition, and celebration. We train judges to assess team participation and provide feedback on team strengths and suggestions for improvement.
The CTEA program is aligned with the American Society for Quality's (ASQ) International Team Excellence Award (ITEA) programs, criteria, and team judging process. CTEA provides a forum for teams to present their efforts and obtain consultative and supportive feedback via an action-oriented Feedback Report. Recognition and knowledge sharing occurs not only through participation but also through the annual CCE Awards Conference.
